40th Anniversary Celebration Dinners


Braidburn Branch of the SNP, formerly Morningside Branch, celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Merchants of Edinburgh Golf Club.  Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Professor Sir Neil Maccormick.

President of the Scottish National Party, Ian Hudghton MEP paid tribute to the hard work and enthusiasm of the Branch which was formed after the historical SNP win in Hamilton for Dr. Winnie Ewing in 1967.

Also in attendance was Member of the Scottish Parliament Dr. Ian McKee  and Kaukub Stewart who will be standing for election in the Westminster Parliament campaign.

Portsoy SNP celebrated their 40th Anniversary with a dinner on 8 February in the Station Hotel, Portsoy.  First Minister Alex Salmond MSP was guest of honour and original member Johnny Stewart gave a brief insight into the founding of the Branch and its continuing success over the years.

SNP Tryst Branch has held an event to mark 40 years of continued electoral success at local level in the Larbert and Stenhousemuir area.
