Pictured setting off on the round trip from Keith to
Dufftown on the most northerly private railway in Scotland
accompanied by a young piper are David Thompson
MSP, Cllr. Joanna Strathdee, Cllr. Pearl Paul, SNP President Ian
Hudghton MEP and Cllr. Gary Coull.
The Keith and Dufftown Railway first
opened in 1862 but was closed by British Railways in 1991. Now,
after several years of refurbishment, it is again open and is a
great tourist attraction for the area run by Keith & Dufftown
Railway Association.
