"Conscription Through Taxes".  SNP President Ian Hudghton MEP joined other European Free Alliance MEPs Mikel Irujo and Plaid Cymru's Jill Evans to support the complaint by seven "peace tax campaigners" to the European Court of Human Rights on the grounds that rights are violated by a tax system which makes us pay for the deliberate killing of other human beings.  This is regarded as a form of conscription.  The group want to make a positive contribution to society by paying their tax in full but want the right to have their taxes diverted to a ring fence peace fund to pay for life affirming activities such as health care, education and non-violent resolution.
