“Wood
RecyclAbility is a really great example of a
social enterprise in Gordon that is
committed to the community and keenly aware
of environmental issues. Having had some
contact with the company in my capacity as
local MSP I was delighted to be able to
write to Marcia Morris to congratulate her,
the staff and the trainees.
“Wood
RecyclAbility is a great success and a
community business that has grown
significantly since it was established in
1997 and is now able to take a great number
of trainees all of whom are able to benefit
from the work.
“I’d like to
take this opportunity to wish the company
all the best for future success.”
Mr Hudghton,
President of the SNP said:
“In my
capacity as a Member of the European
Parliament
for Scotland I was delighted to see
such innovative use of the funding from the
European Social Fund in Scotland, to the
benefit of Wood Recyclability and their
trainees.
“This is an
inspiring example of what can be achieved
with the help of European Funding and I do
not doubt that the business will continue to
go from strength to strength.”

Notes for
Editors
Wood
RecyclAbility Ltd. Was set up in 1997 to
offer work experience for people with
learning disabilities, allowing certain
individuals to become trainees in their
workshop programme.
Commercial
wood waste, from companies such as shell is
made into wood chips and used for a wide
variety of purposes. A number of offshore
companies now send their wood on a regular
basis and Wood RecyclAbility is now taking
in 2000 tonnes of wood per year that would
previously have gone to landfill.
